Pine Tree's foreclosure assistance project is based in the Portland and Lewiston offices. The project is a great experience for anyone interested in consumer law. This is a multifaceted project aimed at embracing the resources of legal services and the private bar to represent low income Maine homeowners facing foreclosure or potential loss of their home. The project works to address issues including abusive predatory lending practices in Maine.
Depending on experience, anticipated student responsibilities include client intake and ongoing communication, outreach, legal research, legal analysis, case development, investigation, drafting pleadings, and assisting with litigation.
Interested students should send a cover letter and resume to Helen Meyer firstname.lastname@example.org. Applicantions will be considered on a rolling basis, but priority will be given to those received by July 15th for Fall/Spring Internships or March 15th for Summer Internships.
